Human Performance Assessment

Official Rules & Standards

The HPA measures how you perform across memory, reasoning, observation, reading, timing, and decision-making — one standardized assessment per day, one Human Performance Score.

§ What it measures

Seven windows into how your mind works.

The HPA is a single, standardized battery of seven micro-assessments. Each one isolates a distinct cognitive faculty. Together they produce a full-spectrum snapshot — not a single trick score.

  • Timing

Internal chronometry — your subjective sense of how long a second lasts.

  • Attention

Visual observation, change detection, and the ability to hold a scene in working memory.

  • Memory

Short-term sequence recall and pattern retention under growing load.

  • Comprehension

Reading speed paired with real understanding of what you just read.

  • Reasoning

Fluid intelligence — pattern inference, deduction, and abstract rule discovery.

  • Judgment

Confidence-calibrated reasoning: knowing what you know, and how sure you should be.

  • Decision Speed

Cognitive throughput — how fast you can evaluate options and act correctly.

§ Human Performance Score

One number. Seven weighted signals.

Your Human Performance Score (HPS) is a single 0–100 value that summarizes an entire day's assessment. It is designed to be stable, comparable, and hard to game.

Step 1 — Category scores. Each of the seven sections is scored against calibrated performance bands, then normalized to a 0–100 category score. Device and input differences (mouse vs. touch, refresh rate, screen size) are adjusted where they meaningfully affect the signal.

Step 2 — Weighted composite. Category scores are combined using the fixed weights below. No single section can dominate the HPS, and no section is worth zero.

Step 3 — Integrity & percentile. Assessments that fail integrity checks (impossible reactions, automated inputs, identical timing) are excluded from competitive rankings. The final HPS is also expressed as a percentile against the global daily field.

Weights may be refined over time as more data improves calibration (see Rule 15). Historical HPS values remain visible in your profile.

§ Game rules

How each assessment works.

Every section of the HPA follows the same structure it does in Practice Mode. Read the rule once — you will play it every day.

Internal Clock

Timing · 10% · ~0:15
How to play

Tap the button, then tap again exactly when you think the target duration has passed — no counting, no ticking along in your head. You get several rounds at different target intervals.

What it measures

Internal chronometry: how accurately your brain represents the passage of short time intervals without external cues.

Observation

Attention · 15% · ~0:45
How to play

A scene appears for a few seconds and then briefly blacks out. When it returns, one element has changed — spot it and select it. Scenes get denser as you progress.

What it measures

Visual attention, change detection, and how much of a scene you can hold in working memory at once.

Sequence Memory

Memory · 15% · ~1:20
How to play

A grid of nodes lights up in a sequence. Reproduce the exact order by tapping the nodes yourself. Every correct answer adds one more step to the next sequence.

What it measures

Short-term memory span and the fidelity of sequential recall under increasing load.

Flash Read

Comprehension · 15% · ~1:30
How to play

A passage appears for a limited time, then disappears. You then answer comprehension questions about what you just read. Reading time shrinks and passages get denser as levels advance.

What it measures

Reading speed combined with real comprehension — how much meaning you can extract per second of exposure.

Pattern Recognition

Reasoning · 15% · ~2:00
How to play

You are shown an abstract matrix with one cell missing. Select the option that completes the underlying rule. No numeric or verbal knowledge is required.

What it measures

Fluid intelligence: inferring hidden rules from a small set of examples and applying them to a novel case.

Reason

Reasoning · 20% · ~1:45
How to play

You have 55 seconds per question across ten reasoning problems. For each answer you also declare confidence — Unsure, Sure, or Certain. Higher confidence pays more when right and costs more when wrong.

What it measures

Deductive and probabilistic reasoning plus calibration — knowing not just the answer, but how much you should trust yourself.

Decision Speed

Decision · 10% · ~0:60
How to play

Rapid two-choice comparisons — numbers, word lengths, quick sums. You have a few seconds per question; timeouts count as wrong. Streaks of correct answers are rewarded.

What it measures

Cognitive throughput: how quickly you can evaluate a simple decision correctly under time pressure.

§ Official rules

The 17 rules of the HPA.

These are the standards every official assessment is held to — for you, for everyone else, and for the leaderboard.

Rule
01

One Official Assessment Per Day

Every account receives one official Human Performance Assessment every 24 hours.

Only the first completed HPA counts toward Human Performance Score (HPS), weekly league rankings, global rankings, country rankings, friend rankings, daily streaks, and seasonal statistics.

Players may practice as much as they like outside of the official assessment.

Rule
02

Every Assessment is Unique

No two official HPAs are identical.

Each day includes newly generated memory challenges, observation scenes, logic and reasoning questions, reading passages, pattern recognition puzzles, timing exercises, and decision-making scenarios.

Questions are selected from a large, continuously expanding pool so memorization never becomes an advantage.

Rule
03

Standardized Assessment

Every player completes the same assessment structure: Internal Clock → Observation → Memory → Flash Read → Pattern Recognition → Reason → Decision Speed. The categories never change. Only the content changes.

Rule
04

One Attempt Per Section

Each assessment section may only be completed once — no restarting, no refreshing for a better score, no replaying individual sections. If a device unexpectedly disconnects, the assessment resumes where it left off whenever possible.

Rule
05

Assessment Length

A complete HPA takes approximately 8–10 minutes. Each section has its own time limit to maintain consistency while keeping the assessment short enough to become a daily habit.

Rule
06

Adaptive Difficulty

The HPA adjusts difficulty in real time. Strong performance results in more challenging questions; struggling in a section results in appropriately adjusted difficulty.

Rule
07

Balanced Scoring

No single category determines your HPS. Example weighting: Memory 15%, Observation 15%, Flash Read 15%, Reason 20%, Pattern Recognition 15%, Decision Speed 10%, Internal Clock 10%.

The scoring model may evolve as additional validation and platform data improve the assessment.

Rule
08

Device Fairness

Where appropriate, scores are adjusted to reduce hardware-related advantages — desktop vs. mobile, mouse vs. touch, screen refresh rate, screen size, input method. The goal is to compare people, not devices.

Rule
09

Assessment Integrity

Every official HPA is monitored for unusual or suspicious activity — impossible reaction patterns, automated inputs, unrealistic completion times, repeated identical timing results, abnormal clicking or tapping behavior. Assessments that fail integrity checks may be excluded from competitive rankings.

Rule
10

Human Performance Score (HPS)

Every completed HPA generates a single Human Performance Score (HPS) that reflects overall performance across every assessment category rather than a single skill.

Rule
11

Performance Trends

Every assessment updates long-term performance metrics — today's HPS, yesterday, 7-day average, and 30-day trend. The HPA is designed to reward consistent improvement rather than isolated high scores.

Rule
12

Performance Breakdown

After every assessment, players receive a complete breakdown of their results across each category so they can identify strengths and areas for improvement.

Rule
13

Competitive Rankings

Only official Human Performance Assessments affect weekly league standings, promotions, demotions, seasonal rankings, career statistics, and global leaderboards. Practice sessions never affect official rankings.

Rule
14

Practice Mode

Practice Mode is always available and allows players to improve individual skills, learn game mechanics, and beat personal bests. Practice Mode does not affect HPS, league rankings, global rankings, daily streaks, or seasonal statistics.

Rule
15

Ongoing Calibration

As the platform grows, scoring models may be refined to improve fairness and accuracy. Historical assessment results remain available, players are informed of meaningful scoring changes, and long-term records are preserved.

Rule
16

Transparency

After every assessment, players receive their overall HPS, individual category scores, percentile rankings, performance trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.

Rule
17

Assessment Availability

A new HPA becomes available every 24 hours. Missing a day does not reduce your HPS, but it may affect daily streaks, league progress, seasonal participation, and historical consistency metrics.
